X-Caliber Rural Capital (XRC) is a licensed United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) lender that offers unique programs with attractive financing terms designed to support a wide scope of assistance to rural businesses and communities.
XRC is dedicated to providing funding to support the health and development of rural areas. The USDA defines rural as any town, village, city, or other population center with a threshold of 50,000 or less and not contiguous with another populated area based on the most recent census.
Position Summary:
The Loan Servicer supports the administration and ongoing servicing of XRC’s loan portfolio. This role is responsible for managing loan-level activity, maintaining accurate servicing system data, and ensuring timely and accurate borrower and investor reporting.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working across multiple systems and internal teams. This position plays a key role in loan onboarding, payment reconciliation, escrow administration, and investor reporting while collaborating with Portfolio Management, Accounting, Finance, and Operations.
This position is based in our Timonium, Maryland office with a hybrid or remote work arrangement, as applicable, and reports to senior members of the Loan Servicing team.
Key Responsibilities:
Loan Servicing & Reconciliation:
- Review and distribute monthly billing statements to borrowers, ensuring accuracy of interest accruals, escrow collections, and banking details
- Reconcile discrepancies in borrower payments in collaboration with Accounting
- Perform and review month-end reporting and distribute reports to Portfolio Managers and management as needed
- Track investor purchases, sales, and transfers within the servicing system
Loan Onboarding & System Management:
- Manage new loan onboarding processes, including detailed data entry into the servicing system
- Coordinate welcome communications and onboarding meetings with internal stakeholders and borrowers
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date loan data, including borrower information, payment schedules, taxes, insurance, and banking details
- Input memos, reminders, and tracking notes within the servicing system
- Review draft loan documents for accuracy and completeness
Escrow & Asset Administration:
- Prepare initial and semi-annual escrow analyses for applicable loans
- Coordinate escrow disbursements, including taxes, insurance, reserve payments, and related invoices (e.g., site visit expenses)
- Coordinate with Finance for approved escrow disbursements
- Track and monitor insurance, tax, and UCC filings and coordinate renewals with third-party providers
- Maintain accurate escrow-related data within the servicing system and ensure timely payments
Investor Reporting & Compliance:
- Prepare and review monthly remittances to investors, including interest calculations and service fees
- Submit semi-annual status reports through USDA LINC with input from Portfolio Management
- Manage investor-related reports, consents, and notices
- Support audit requests for investors and borrowers by preparing documentation and responses
Cross-Functional & Audit Support:
- Collaborate with Portfolio Management, Construction Administration, Finance, and Accounting on loan activity and disbursements
- Assist with construction loans, including draw fundings and conversion to permanent financing
- Support tracking and reconciliation of construction loan draw fundings within servicing systems, ensuring alignment with underlying loan balances
- Coordinate with trustees on securitizations as needed
Documentation, Systems & Client Support
- Maintain document sharing systems (e.g., ShareFile, Egnyte), including establishing and managing access to loan files
- Respond to borrower and agency inquiries, providing day-to-day servicing support and directing matters to Portfolio Management as appropriate
- Assist senior management with special projects and initiatives
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Finance or a related field a plus
Experience:
- Experience in loan servicing or a related financial services environment preferred
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Experience with loan servicing platforms such as Strategy by McCracken
- Experience with USDA LINC system a plus

Work Environment:
- Fully remote role with optional hybrid work environment for candidates local to the Timonium, MD office
- Occasional travel may be required for training, conferences, or company events.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary range: $55,000 – $75,000
- Discretionary annual bonus
